Bicheno

2 x Dwell // Medium Two Bedroom
+ a custom designed bunkhouse

Our Homeful Dwell provides the perfect vessel for shack living. Modest + comfortable, a retreat for everyday life.

Our Bicheno Homeful project is a community of Homeful buildings, placed lightly on the coastal site around outdoor shared spaces for family gatherings. Providing a gathering place + shelters to explore from; snorkelling, kite surfing + early morning fishing trips are all facilitated from the site.

Relaxing on the coastline, overlooking Diamond Island, these Homeful Dwells are expressions of their inhabitants.

Our clients (two separate couples) had very similar briefs in the layout of their shacks, yet their aesthetic tastes were contrasting.

The Homeful Dwell closest to the shore wears our Melaleuca colour palette with an airy ease, whereas the Dwell to the rear of the block, settles into the bushland behind wearing our deep Dolerite colour palette, with moments of rich-oiled spotted gum timber (a beautiful dense hardwood - bushfire rated to BAL 29).

With 80m2 of indoor space, the Dwells feel generous in their footprint, especially for a shack!

The living areas hold a kitchen, nectre wood heater + a sunny living + dining area, under an elegant gable pitched ceiling.

Bedrooms open through double doors onto the deck, inviting a sunrise stretch without any effort, or a nightcap watching the moon rise over the Tasman Sea before slipping into bed.

Entry spaces are shared with laundry facilities for easy dumping of beach towels + bathers straight into the washing machine.

The living decks have loads of sheltered space overlooking the sea + are well equipped with barbecues, sinks + an outdoor bathtub each - decadent really!

The outdoor kitchens are supremely functional for filleting fish + preparing meals in the open air.

While the bunk house adds that little extra sleeping space with an outdoor shower - when all the families come to stay over new years.

Cheers to long summer days + stormy winters spent tucked up in our Bicheno Homefuls!
